La Manche

La Manche is an unspoiled and friendly area of Normandy for the visitor to explore. Almost entirely surrounded by the sea, it is a land of contrasts – the spectacular granite cliffs in the north lead southwards to long, sandy beaches and green meadows and eventually to the world-famous Mont-Saint-Michel. Access is easy with excellent ferry, road and rail links.

There is a wide choice of accommodation, spanning a wealth of hotels, well-equipped camping sites, as well as seaside and rural holiday lets with a range of attractive holiday formulas on offer.

The Manche region has a wealth of sights to thrill the visitor, from coastal beauty spots such as the Bay of Veys, the island of Tatihou, the many coves, and the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, to the breathtaking rural scenery, such as the meadows, the valleys, the Cotentin Marshlands and the places of interest in the towns and cities.

The many landmarks, tourist areas, places to discover, historical sites and beauty spots provide endless opportunities for relaxation, and both professional and amateur sports enthusiasts will appreciate the range of games, walks and water sports available.

The region's culinary offerings include seafood and rural specialities that will appeal to the most refined palates.

When you enter La Manche you will be walking the trails of the historical area of the Battle of Normandy, in the footsteps of the liberators of Europe.
