AGM - Report from Dorchester-Lübbecke Society

We still meet on alternate months, with the committee meeting just before each social event to make sure everything goes to plan.  We started the year with a dinner in January at the Conservative Club followed by a speaker in March. We held a Country Dancing evening in May which was a very happy and successful evening.  In July we held a barbecue and invitedmembers of the Bayeux and Holbaek Societies to join us; in September we again had a speaker, which brings us to our AGM on the 22nd of this month. followed by skittles in November.  As you can see we have tried to do different things, our Chairman and committee work very hard to try to put on a programme that pleases everyone.  We sometimes get very disappointed that members do not attend and wonder why?  We send out two newsletters during the year in Spring and Autumn, to all members, to keep them in touch with dates and venues.  We are now thinking of next years programme, but we do need the support of the members of our society.)
