Beaminster and District Twinning Association Annual Report - 2008/2009

We welcomed 46 of our friends from St James for a long weekend in May and were presented with two commemorative rambling roses and also a pastel painting of a French country scene which will be hung in one of Beaminster's community rooms where the general public can admire it. This year we took our guests to the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth and rode on the Colyton-Seaton Tram for the day out but with each visit it becomes more and more difficult to find somewhere new to take them.

Our membership remains fairly constant at around seventy five people but we are an ageing group and need to attract more young people. Throughout the year we have regular meetings such as Barbecue, Skittles, French Meal and Quiz evenings. In 2010 it will be our turn to visit St James for a long weekend.

New members (of whatever age) are always welcome and should contact our chairman, Margaret Greenham (01308 862493)
